This was my second trip to Dubai, and although I’m still not a huge fan of the place, it has grown on me. It’s all a bit artificial and bizarre, but also the definition of irreverence – you get the feeling that they really don’t give a shit what the rest of the world thinks. Screw eco, lets build new islands in the sea, buildings that dwarf sky scrapers, and burn fuel just for kicks. And to hell with what the rest of the Arab world thinks we should be doing, we want to party.
